Join us as we investigate our Claire and Don Egge Collection on China with Anthony Clark of Whitworth University. Professor Clark specializes in Chinese history, directs Whitworth\u2019s Asian studies program and the \u201cWhitworth in China\u201d study-abroad program. \u00a0He\u2019ll be highlighting one of our most unique archival collections and remarking on the importance of studying the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Title: \u00a0Dennis Flannigan\u2019s \u201cLetters From Mississippi\u201d<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Date:<\/strong> \u00a0Thursday, October 18<sup>th<\/sup>, 2018<br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> \u00a05-6pm<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong> \u00a0A&amp;SC Seminar Room<br \/>\n<strong>Presenter\/Guest:<\/strong> \u00a0Dennis Flannigan, Alum<br \/>\n<strong>Event description:<\/strong> \u00a0Dennis Flannigan, former Washington state legislator and pioneering Tacoma community leader, will be visiting the Archives &amp; Special Collections to discuss his time at Puget Sound and his experience as a civil rights worker in the 1964 Freedom Summer campaign in Mississippi.
