Studying abroad made be become a creative problem solver. Leadership roles taught me about my strengths and\u00a0weaknesses. And internship experiences gave me insight into the career opportunities\u00a0available for recent undergrads. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I knew I didn\u2019t want my education to stop when I left Puget Sound. I wanted to be challenged in my career just as I had been during college. My liberal arts\u00a0education armed me with the critical thinking skills\u00a0necessary to begin my career in\u00a0consulting, where\u00a0problems are often\u00a0ambiguous or\u00a0cumbersome.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What did you learn or what insights did you gain through your work with CES?<br \/>\n<em><br \/>\nDuring my senior year, I was a frequent flyer at Career and\u00a0Employment Services (CES)! The detailed edits I received on interview materials and follow-up was important during my job search. Through their help I found out about unique opportunities and learned\u00a0how to best position my experience\u00a0and\u00a0strengths to grab the attention of recruiters.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>By taking CES&#8217; quarter credit course,\u00a0\u201cCareer Awareness,&#8221; I\u00a0learned how to tell a story that incorporated my\u00a0experience, passion, and\u00a0strengths. I then practiced my elevator pitch in real life situations at Career Fairs. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Career Fairs and CES\u2014sponsored field trips to local companies, most\u00a0notably Amazon, allowed me to\u00a0practice techniques I learned in the classroom on\u00a0recruiters.
