TS Welcomes Jyotsna Negi

Jyotsna Negi joined Technology Services in September 2018 as a Senior Developer.
Jyotsna was born and raised in northern India where she received her engineering degree and since then she has worked with various IT and retail companies as an ERP technical consultant.

In her free time, she enjoys reading fiction, hiking and traveling. Being surrounded by mountains in Washington reminds her of her childhood and she loves exploring the beautiful outdoors here. Jyotsna is excited to be part of this gorgeous campus!

Technology Services is very pleased to have Jyotsna bring her great experience and expertise to the Puget Sound community.

 

TS Welcomes Matthew Dammes

Matt Dammes joined Print and Copy Services in September 2018 as a Print Copy Specialist.

Prior to arriving at Puget Sound, Matt was a Systems Analyst and Developer for Louisiana State University Alexandria and a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He holds advanced degrees in Computer Science from the University of West Georgia and Music degrees from Auburn University and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Outside of work, Matt performs enjoys spending time exploring the Tacoma and surrounding area with his family

TS Welcomes Bjorn Johnson

Bjorn Johnson, a recent grad of the University of Puget Sound, joined TS as a Technology Support Analyst at the beginning of the summer.

Bjorn graduated from the University in 2018 with a degree in International Political Economy, with minors in Spanish and Religion. He has worked with the Media Services team in Technology Services since arriving at the University as a Freshman and is now excited about transitioning into Client Support Services within TS where he can continue bringing excellent customer service to the campus community.

In his free time, Bjorn enjoys longboarding, tossing a frisbee, re-watching The Office for the thousandth time, and traveling when circumstances permit. He is excited to continue living in Tacoma after graduation as he has come to love it here as much as his home state of Minnesota.

Technology Services is pleased that we can keep Bjorn on our Client Support Team in a permanent position after graduation!

TS Welcomes David Nichols

David Nichols joined Media Services in January 2018 as a Digital Media Specialist.

David is an audio engineer and digital media specialist from Tacoma, Washington.  Prior to arriving at Puget Sound, he was the media technician for Pierce College where he oversaw audio-visual technology and design for two separate campuses.

In addition to working in higher education, David has worked extensively in the music and film industry and has audio engineering, production, and composition credits on dozens of music albums, films, and television shows.  He studied at Chinese University of Hong Kong before earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington.

Outside of work, David enjoys traveling, cycling, skateboarding, and making music in his home recording studio.

Technology Services is  pleased to bring David’s unique talents and abilities to the Puget Sound Community!

TS Welcomes Adam Rosencrantz

Adam Rosencrantz recently joined the TS staff in January as a Digital Media Specialist in Media Services.

As a digital media specialist Adam has had extensive experience in a wide range of audio and visual productions over the last 25 years. He entered the field working for an NBC affiliate where he developed his passion for visual communications.

After attending the Art Institute, Adam was a Multimedia Developer for a locally based, global simulation company. In this position he worked for the Marketing team to develop, design and deploy corporate and product focused materials for use in Sales, trade shows and other marketing efforts. He also produced, story boarded, shot, and edited interactive law enforcement training videos for both law enforcement and the military.

Most recently, Adam was a Sr. Multimedia and Training Specialist at an industry leading telematics company. There, he assisted the marketing team with video production needs, which included shooting and editing marketing pieces. In addition to video production, he also functioned as the corporate photographer for events, and created marketing colateral, including customer testimonials. Adam also maintained all of the internal and external training materials, including help related resources for all company products.

Currently, outside of his work at the university, Adam enjoy working for the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center and the Auburn Performing Arts Center as a lead lighting technician for the live shows.

Technology Services is very pleased to have Adam bring his great experience and expertise to the Puget Sound community in Media Services!

Technology Services Summer Office Relocations

As a part of the university’s remodeling and relocation work in the lower level of the Collins Library, Media Services, Educational Technology, and the Service Desk will be moving to temporary office locations from Thursday, May 17 through the end of the summer.

  • Media Services will be located in Jones 303.  They will continue to operate equipment check out as normal; however, there may be some items that are not available during this window.  Please reach out for any specific needs in advance.
  • Educational Technology will be located in Thompson 420.
  • The Service Desk and Student Technology will be temporarily located in McIntyre 212 and 204.

Media Services and the Service desk can still be reached by calling ext. 8585 and their regular respective email addresses.  There will be signage on the 2nd floor of McIntyre and 3rd floor of Jones directing you to these locations should you need assistance locating these offices during the summer.

TS Welcomes Dennis Chin

Many of you have already been introduced to Dennis Chin, our new Manager of Client Support Services, but we wanted to officially welcome him to the University of Puget Sound and Technology Services. Dennis previously worked in technology support at Nordstrom and we are excited to have him apply his excellent customer service skills in Client Support. Dennis is located within the Client Support office in the lower level of Collins Library. If you haven’t met him yet, stop by and say hello or give him a call at 3940.

TS Welcomes Michelle Taylor

Technology Services is pleased to welcome Michelle Taylor as our new Business Analyst!

Michelle grew up in Northern California and proceeded to Washington State where she received her degree in Business Administration.  She now calls the Pacific Northwest home and has seven years of corporate finance and business analytics experience.

She enjoys photography, exercising outdoors and spending time with family.  Michelle is excited to be part of the campus community!

TS Welcomes Faithlina Chan

Technology Services is pleased to welcome Faithlina Chan as our new Technology Support Analyst.

Faithlina is a native of California, but after spending four years in the PNW, she fell in love with it and hopes to stay for good. She completed her undergraduate degree with majors in music performance and psychology here at the University of Puget Sound and is excited to experience campus life from the perspective of a staff member.

Faithlina worked on the Client Support Team as a student staff member for four years during her time at Puget Sound, and developed her technology support abilities. In her spare time, she hopes to continue playing cello, explore the great outdoors, find interesting books to read, and discover all the good food spots in Tacoma.

TS Welcomes Kaity Fain

Technology Services is pleased to welcome Kaity Fain as our Educational Technologist for the Humanities.

Kaity graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Secondary Education and has taught English Language Arts, History, and Technology to K-12 students. Kaity is currently in Seattle Pacific University’s Master of Digital Education Leadership program where she gets to explore and build on her love of all things educational technology.

Born and raised in Arizona, Kaity has steadily worked her way up the West Coast to settle in Tacoma, her favorite place to date. Kaity loves playing board games, building furniture, and hiking with her dog.
