Staff Senate to review Staff Compensation Proposal, Oct. 31

All staff members are invited to attend the Staff Senate meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at noon, in Wheelock 101. At this meeting the senate will review a draft version of its Staff Compensation Proposal for the coming fiscal year. A final draft version of this proposal is posted to the Staff Senate SoundNet site (accessible only to Puget Sound staff) .

Each fall the Staff Senate develops a Staff Compensation Proposal to represent staff views on compensation for the next budget year. Once approved by the senate, this proposal is presented to the Budget Task Force (BTF) for consideration in the development of the university’s coming fiscal year budget.

Staff Senate Annual Book and Bake Sale, Dec. 4 and 5

It’s never too early to start planning for the Staff Senate Annual Bake Sale!

The Annual Staff Senate Bake Sale will be held Tuesday, December 4 and Wednesday December 5 on the first floor of Wheelock Student Center.

All proceeds of the Bake Sale benefit the Rosa Beth Gibson Book Scholarship. Thanks for your consideration in bringing cash, as we are unable to accept other forms of payment.

Your donations of baked goods and books help make this event a success. So, please contact Laura Edgar, Special Events Committee Chair, ledgar@pugetsound.edu, regarding donations you would like to make to the sale.

Staff comments sought regarding Staff Senate Annual Compensation Proposal

In preparation for the development of a proposal for fiscal year 2013-2014, the Staff Senate Compensation Committee seeks your input. If you would like to makes comments or suggestions to be considered in the preparation of the 2013-2014 proposal, please send your feedback to Kate Cohn (kcohn@pugetsound.edu), chair of the Staff Senate Compensation Committee. Your comments might include feedback on the health care plan, and whether you have had to spend more money out of pocket, food costs, gas, and so on. Or, for instance, do you feel the salary increase from July adequately matched you needs as they relate to cost of living increases.

All feedback you share shall be considered strictly confidential, and your name will be removed prior to review of all feedback by the Staff Senate Compensation Committee. The committee meets every Tuesday through November, 2012.
