Congratulations to Sewlangster who won the Live Green Recycling competition between Resident Halls. Residents of Sewlangster will receive a pizza and ice cream party at the beginning of Spring term. The Live Green Challenge was a competition between Resident Halls to reduce waste and increase recycling from October to this November. Collectively, all Resident Halls increased the volume of recycling.
A note from Anna Dovzhik the Green Advocate for Sewlangster:
For the Live Green Challenge, I got the word out through RHA meetings, the potty press, writing on mirrors, and putting up official posters. I received the super positive impression that people were excited and genuinely interested in winning and practicing sustainable habits. This challenge made me realize the necessity for teaching everyone on campus proper sorting for recycling – there are still some misconceptions and confusion over how our recycling system works. The interest in being green is out there, and we should do more to help support that mentality!
